Antti reports from the Posio hills! #posiohillsintwoyears “The ripening of the cloudberries has been eagerly anticipated, as much as the spring melting of the winter snow. The crop is huge this year. On a normal year the berries can be difficult find. Now anyone can take out a map, look for the closest bog and find cloudberries. Lavavaara, Noukavaaras, and Iso Jaksamovaara are tall and steep hills in the Riisitunturi National Park. The views open up nicely. Korpivaara is a low hill at the foot of Lavavaara. I also visited the small hills of Pikku and Iso Myllyvaara close to the Posio’s central village, Ahola. After these, the next hill is the fiftieth!”
