HUSKIES

One hour on the runners – 10km husky safari by Kota-Husky

After getting acquainted with our dogs we’ll make a ten-kilometer trip. Halfway we’ll take a break, you can change drivers and take photos of you together with the huskies! After the trip hot drinks
and reindeer sandwiches will be served by an open fire in a Lappish teepee. But be aware by coming on this trip you will risk wanting more… one-hour trip with the huskies will not be enough. Duration 2 h.

Reindeer safari

Best way to enjoy of your visit is to take reindeer safari. You can choose just right length safari for you; our reindeers are happy to take you for a ride. You can spend even a whole day on a safari or just an hour.

FISHING

Traditional winter fishing

Come and enjoy a traditional winter fishing trip on Lake Kitka! A snowmobile sled will take us to the best fishing spots, where we will check the fishing nets with an experienced local fisherman who will be guiding us throughout the entire journey. The main catch typically includes pike and burbot. After inspecting the nets, we’ll head to the secret perch fishing sites to see who can reel in the biggest perch using jigging techniques.

After approximately one hour of fishing, we’ll continue to the fisherman’s cottage. There, we’ll enjoy a steaming bowl of hot soup and prepare a tasty snack from our catch over the open fire, all while soaking in the tranquility of the pristine Lappish nature. A warm, homemade berry juice will also be served. As we savor our meal and hot juice, we’ll hear captivating stories about the local way of life and traditional fishing practices.

From Ruumissaari Island, we’ll make our way back to the fisherman’s house in Mourusalmi, Posio, once again by snowmobile sled.

Here most of your activities are not punctuated by the clock on the contrary… Your guide will adapt to the rhythm of the group, to each other’s physical conditions but also to weather conditions. This way, you can spend a whole day skiing in the wilderness if everyone feels good, or shorten the hike and enjoy the sauna if the weather is less good or fatigue more present! Moreover, activities will be carried out exclusively in small group (maximum 8 people).
